At the moment, 3 air carriers have received permission to operate flights to Hainan Island – to Haikou and Sanya. According to preliminary data, it is planned that the airlines' aircraft will fly twice a week.

Red Wings aircraft will fly from Moscow, Samara, Chelyabinsk, Rostov-on-Don, Novosibirsk, Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk and Khabarovsk. The Ikar air carrier is going to operate flights from Khabarovsk, Yekaterinburg, Moscow, Irkutsk, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Novosibirsk, Ufa and St. Petersburg, and IrAero received permission for routes from Vladivostok.

However, despite the availability of permits for flights, flights are unlikely to be launched in the near future, as airlines must first approve the schedule and prices of air tickets.

It is also possible that the list of cities from which flights will be operated will change, since the air carrier also decides on this issue.

In addition, at first, planes will only land at Haikou Airport, since the terminal in Sanya is closed due to renovation work due to be completed by the end of summer.
