The UK will introduce a ban on visa-free transit
From October 6, the UK will introduce a ban on visa-free transit for Russians at airports. An official update indicating the new rules has been published on the government website.
It is reported that the transition period until the ban is fully implemented will last until October 6, and until this date, visa-free transit will be available to passengers whose tickets were issued before 00:01 September 8.
Previously, visa-free transit did not require a visa if the passenger remained in the transit area (airside) of Manchester, Heathrow and Gatwick airports in London.
Now visa-free transit will be completely prohibited. Transfers at UK airports will only be possible if you have a transit visa, visa or residence permit from Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the USA.
