The State Duma decided to restrict travel abroad for Russian citizens who have access to particularly sensitive or highly classified information.

According to the published document, the specified category of persons may be temporarily restricted in their right to leave the country for five years from the date of the last access to such data.

Changes have also been made to the procedure for traveling abroad for certain citizens, who now must notify the Federal Security Service (FSB) and the Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) in advance. The procedure and conditions for such notifications will be determined by the President of the Russian Federation.

First of all, these restrictions apply to deputies of the State Duma, senators, deputies of regional parliaments, heads of municipalities, judges and lawyers who have access to highly secret and especially important information.
