Kazakh authorities have renamed the country's capital again.

Over the past 60 years, the name of the city has changed five times: Akmolinsk, Tselinograd, Akmola, Astana, Nur-Sultan. The last name change took place in 2019. It was due to the fact that the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, resigned, handing it over to his successor, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Then Tokayev himself took the initiative to rename the capital in honor of Nazarbayev. In this way he demonstrated loyalty. But now Tokayev agreed that the city should return to its former familiar name. The word "astana" this is how it is translated from the Kazakh language – “capital”.

Astana is a fast-growing modern city, where all tourists traveling around Kazakhstan come. Recently, the number of guests from Russia has increased especially. Under the sanctions, they come to a neighboring country to get an international bank card, buy in boutiques of foreign brands, fly to Europe with a transfer.
