Sea and snow. They want to develop winter tourism in Batumi

Sea and snow. Batumi wants to develop winter tourism not only in the summer season, but also in the winter.

Now more than 2 million tourists come to sunny Adjara every year, mainly in summer. The regional authorities want to triple this figure over the next three years. This is planned to be achieved by attracting tourists in the winter season.

In winter, Batumi plans to entertain guests with New Year's fairs, trips to the mountains and, of course, warming Georgian cuisine.

" The main strategy of the region is to present Batumi as an all-season destination. To do this, we need to rely on eco-tourism, infrastructure and eco-programs that we offer in the mountains,” Tinatin Zoidze, director of the Adjara Tourism Department, told Euronews.

According to her, natural attractions, reserves and national parks around Batumi are interesting both in summer and in winter. For example, even in the snow you can go to the Kapnistavi canyon.
