Jet fuel prices up 47%
The expected date has been named deadline for the restoration of air traffic between Russia and Europe
European air traffic control Eurocontrol published a forecast for the recovery of the air transportation market in the EU until 2028.
According to the document, the EU does not expect the restoration of air links with Russia until 2029.
The disruption of air links with the Russian Federation is only part of the overall decline in the European air travel market, including due to the effects of the pandemic. It is expected that it will recover to the level of 2019 only by 2025. Eurocontrol notes that this year alone, jet fuel prices have risen by 47% and airfare by 15%.
According to the Russian Association of Tour Operators (ATOR), Eurocontrol forecasts are highly valued and tend to be one of the most accurate.
