A strong wind on the slope blew people off their feet
A Muscovite got lost on Elbrus and froze to death
The Ministry of Emergency Situations in Kabardino-Balkaria reported that the search for the missing tourist from Moscow had been completed.
< p> Early in the morning on Monday rescuers received a signal about the loss of one of the tourists. The 44-year-old Muscovite almost reached the highest point of Elbrus (5642 m), but disappeared at the very top. Experts immediately left to search.
The rescue operation was complicated by weather conditions: a strong wind on the slope literally blew people off their feet. 7 people went out in search on two snowcats (mountain tractors). By 2:45 pm, they found the hiker at an altitude of 5,300 meters. Unfortunately, he died.
Apparently, the man lost his way and was exhausted from fatigue. Frost and hurricane winds completed the job. The body of the tourist has already been handed over to the police.
