Competition “Masters of Hospitality” – project of the presidential platform «Russia– land of opportunity turned three years old.  More than 87 thousand participants and 150 mentors, hundreds of implemented tourism projects, more than 60 partners, dozens of face-to-face events in hospitality centers in different regions of the country. History of the “Masters of Hospitality” began on November 13, 2019 on board the ship that sailed through the center of Moscow, on which the presentation of the competition took place. During the meeting, it was announced that the main goal of the new project is to unlock the potential of professionals, form new traditions, improve service standards and the prestige of professions in the hospitality industry, which includes tourism, hotel and restaurant business.

The project proved that Russian tourism has a great future: over the years, more than 87,000 bright specialists from all regions of Russia and 29 countries of the world took part in the competition, of which 14,000 – young people taking their first steps in the field of tourism. Masters open up the regions of Russia for tourists in a new way, improve the culture of travel and the level of service in Russia. The ideological inspirer of the project «Masters of hospitality» became the deputy general director of the society “Knowledge”, the head of the educational center “Mashuk”; Anton Serikov, who worked for many years in ANO «Russia– land of opportunity”: “Three years ago, a sincere, warm and creative project “Masters of Hospitality” appeared. We traveled dozens of cities, recorded and conducted thousands of video tours, and brought together tens of thousands of the best representatives of the hospitality industry of our country in one project. Head of the competition “Masters of Hospitality” Bogdan Kondratov said that the project introduces and unites people of the tourism and service industry from different regions of Russia with one idea and goal, creates conditions for learning, exchange of experience, creative collaborations both between contestants and mentors, experts and partners.

Since its launch, the project has proved its relevance: more than 21,000 people from 85 regions registered for the first season in 2019. At the remote stage, which included video invitations to the regions, 1,100 people were selected. Kaliningrad, Sochi, Ufa, Yalta, Samara, Tula, Mineralnye Vody, Salekhard hospitably received the pioneers of the competition. The final was held in the fall of 2020 in Moscow: 62 contestants from 29 regions of Russia became winners, received a mentoring program and project support, 25 people were trained at the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management.
The finalist of the first season, Yulia Oleinik, Commercial Director of the Krasnodar Hippodrome, says that the competition provides a unique opportunity to make yourself and your project known throughout the country: “I managed to personally tell the President about my beloved Krasnodar Hippodrome and the development of the horse industry in Russia. Now I know for sure that everything is possible! The main thing is to take the initiative and not sit still.

The second season brought together more than 29.5 thousand people wishing to develop tourism in Russia. Almost 1600 selected Masters competed in Kaluga, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Krasnodar, Murmansk, Perm, Zheleznovodsk, Tyumen, Ulyanovsk and Nizhny Novgorod. 77 winners from 44 regions of Russia received grant support for projects, a mentoring program and training at the Senezh management workshop. The novelty of the season was a student track aimed at supporting social initiatives in tourism.

The third season of the competition started in the spring of 2022 and changed the concept: participants try their hand at 4 directions for tourism industry professionals, specialists with the idea of ​​tourism startups, promising personnel with proposals for the development of Russian territories, students with socially oriented projects. More than 36.5 thousand people decided to try their hand, almost 600 reached the semi-finals and finals. Chelyabinsk, Cheboksary, Irkutsk, Mineralnye Vody, Saransk accept Masters. 20 student winners and 14 Masters have already been identified, who have shown professional competence in solving cases on the development of territories from partner customers.

As part of the project, a mentoring program is being successfully implemented: each of the winners of the competition receives an industry leader – famous hoteliers and restaurateurs, tour operators, company executives, government representatives interested in bright ideas and new staff. They help the Masters in professional development, implementation of author's tourist ideas.

On March 12, 2022, a new season of the competition started, in which participants will be able to try their hand at four new areas of “Hospitality Industry Managers”, “Startups and Breakthrough Ideas in Tourism” ;, «Development of Territories» and The Future of Tourism.

The winners, depending on the chosen direction, will be able to receive grants for the implementation of the most creative tourism ideas, undergo specialized internships, receive job offers, become participants in the mentoring program, the opportunity to join specialized expert councils of authorities that determine policy in the field of tourism, as well as organizational, methodological and media support for their initiatives.
