Governor of the Magadan Region Sergei Nosov offered tourists the opportunity to mine gold on their own in Kolyma. He made such a proposal at the Eastern Economic Forum and pointed to plans to allocate a plot of land for “free income” for those who are interested in gold mining.

The goal of this initiative is to increase the tourist flow in the region. The governor noted that this will allow us to combine business with pleasure, since people will be able not only to mine gold, but also to experience new sensations.

The organization of such tourist activity became possible after the adoption of the law “On Diligent Activities” in the first reading ;, which legitimizes private gold mining. The Magadan region will be the first region where this law will be implemented.

Previously, there was a case when a Russian tried to smuggle gold worth almost three million rubles in a suitcase. This man stole precious metal from a mining enterprise in Yakutsk, but he was detained during a metal detector check.
