An Airbus A330 of SriLankan Airlines in flight from Colombo (Sri Lanka) to Sydney (Australia). Due to the height of the pandemic, there were only 9 passengers and 7 crew members on board.
Apparently, the pilots and flight attendants relaxed and forgot about safety. At an altitude of 11.9 km, the captain of the aircraft went to the rest room, passing the helm to the co-pilot. He moved to the place of the captain, and the trainee – to the place of the co-pilot.
Soon the co-pilot was brought lunch, but he did not transfer control of the liner to the trainee. After a couple of seconds, the steering wheel went down, the autopilot turned off, the plane began to lose altitude sharply at a speed of 1.7 km per minute. In total, he descended to 469 meters, and then went up again.
Apparently, the co-pilot decided to eat right at the helm, but defended the food.
