The Italian Ministry of Health has declared the highest level of weather danger. In “red” 12 cities of the country, including Rome, were included in the zone due to abnormal heat.
This list also includes Bologna, Bolzano, Brescia, Verona, Latina, Palermo, Perugia, Rieti, Turin, Florence and Frosinone.

Due to high temperatures, the authorities urge local residents and tourists to take precautions: stay indoors, drink more water and limit physical activity.
