Guinness World Records Names Shanghai Diner Tallest Restaurant in the World
The world's tallest restaurant is in Shanghai Guinness World Records officials presented an award to Heavenly Jin, located on the 120th floor of the J Hotel Shanghai Tower in Shanghai, China.
This restaurant is the tallest in the world at 556.36 meters (1825 feet) above the ground. The J Hotel occupies the top floors of the Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China and the third tallest in the world, reaching a height of 632 meters (about 2,000 feet).
Heavenly Jin Restaurant has an amazing view of Shanghai, which is, of course, to be expected for the tallest restaurant in the building. Here guests are offered a menu that combines elements of European, Japanese and Chinese cuisine, offering new interpretations of traditional dishes.
The interior of the restaurant also impresses. Guests are greeted by a whimsical 30-meter fresco, decorated with Italian mosaics, depicting a scene from the ancient Silk Road. The tables are decorated with the light of crystal lights.
The restaurant seats 256 diners and has five private rooms. The open kitchen allows guests to watch the food being prepared, however, in order to switch attention to the cooking process, you need to keep your eyes on the spectacular floor-to-ceiling view outside the window.
Heavenly Jin took the title of “highest restaurant” at the At.mosphere restaurant in Dubai. It is located at a height of 441.3 meters on level 122 of the tallest building in the world – Burj Khalifa, and was opened in 2011. In addition, according to Guinness, China is also home to “the tallest revolving restaurant in the building.” Twist Restaurant is located at an altitude of 422.8 meters on the 106th floor of Canton Tower in Guangzhou.
