Guidosha the squirrel from the Ostafievo museum-estate is the winner of the competition for the title of #TailedKeeper

On November 26, the Ministry of Culture summed up the results of the #TailedGuardian contest in its tg-channel. The squirrel Gvidosha from the museum-estate “Ostafyevo” – “Russian Parnassus” became the winner.

The competition was held among museums in two stages: qualifying and final. The squirrel Gvidosha from the Ostafyevo Museum-Estate, the oxen Grishka and Mishka from the M. Sholokhov Museum-Reserve, the horse Laska from the Gorki Leninskiye Museum-Reserve, the cockerel Petya from the Y. Gagarin Museum-Reserve and the horse entered the final round. Crown from the Tsarskoye Selo Museum-Reserve. As a result of the competition, all five finalists will receive a common sticker pack from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Character «Squirrel Guidosh» appeared in the museum-estate “Ostafyevo” – “Russian Parnassus” September 30, 2021, when the museum held a competition for the best name for a baby squirrel. In August 2022, the museum-estate “Ostafyevo” – “Russian Parnassus” and the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation initiated an all-Russian competition among children for the best sketch of a house for Guidosha. 72 works from various parts of Russia were sent to the competition. The seven-year-old Gleb Ignashkin from Podolsk became the winner: — We decided that the squirrel would live in a Russian tower. But I drew the porch in the form of a boat in the Russian style: with a bird's head and a fish's tail. After all, Gvidosha was named in honor of Tsar Gvidon, who lived on the island. Sea voyages play a big role in the fairy tale by A. S. Pushkin, and we decided to use this theme. On September 29, 2022, the house was made by the museum staff, and assembled, installed and painted by the winner and his friends.
