The Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Russian Federation for the Kamchatka Territory appeals to residents and guests of the peninsula with a request to refrain from climbing five active volcanoes: Klyuchevskoy, Shiveluch, Bezymyanny, Karymsky and Mutnovsky.
According to the Kamchatka Branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the activity of Klyuchevskoy and Karymsky volcanoes has increased. Volcanoes Shiveluch and Bezymyanny continue to be active. Currently, the Mutnovsky volcano is in a state of seismic activity, which increases the risk of landslides and collapses.
Rescuers recommend not approaching volcanoes at a distance of less than 25 km, as ash may be released at any time.
It is also noted that at night the eruption of the highest active volcano of Kamchatka – Klyuchevskoy, whose height reaches almost 5 km, began.
