The Moscow group of diggers proposes to create a museum “Underground Neglinka” and the official safe route to it in order to regulate the scope of underground excursions and prevent the occurrence of new tragedies.

Recall that on Sunday it became known about the death of diggers during an illegal excursion along the underground collector of the Neglinka River, which was flooded during a heavy rain . According to the Investigative Committee, the bodies of all the victims were found. They are being identified.

Maxim Smetanin, a specialist in the department for the study of underground architecture, said that the group has a project for a safe route – this is a dry section of the old channel of the Neglinka. There is no water even during rainstorms.

According to Smetanin, the project includes the creation of the Underground Neglinka museum; and legalization of a safe route to it. He claims that the creation of an official route will help regulate the activities of diggers and prevent a recurrence of the tragedy in the future.

Smetanin also emphasized that the group members are not “extremals”, but researchers of historical underground structures who seek to preserve architectural monuments. Now diggers are worried that after the tragedy in the sewer, the authorities will tighten restrictions on underground descents.
