Asia's best bars for 2023 announced

Asia occupies approximately 30% of the land mass of our planet. However, there seems to be a consensus on what is the best place for a drink on this vast continent: it is the Coa Bar in Hong Kong, which has been named the best bar in Asia for the third year in a row.

The top 50 winners were announced at a gala ceremony at the Rosewood Hotel in Hong Kong on July 18.

Only seven Hong Kong bars made the top 50, including Penicillin (26) and The Old Man, whose name and concept was inspired by Ernest Hemingway (47).

Another Hong Kong resident, originally from the United States, Becali Franks, received the title of "best bartender-bartender" for his bar The Pontiac. The bar that Franks says was named after 

The most winning city in Asia was Singapore, which ranked 11 in the top 50.

In addition to ranking the top 50 bars, the organization "50 Best" established the Best in Destination Award for the top-rated bars in their country, city or region.

Bar Trigona at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur was ranked 36th and became Malaysia's highest rated bar.

Representatives from the top 50 establishments attended the event wearing bright red scarves, making them easy to spot in the crowd.

The ranking is based on the votes of the Asia 50 Best Bars Academy, which includes representatives of the bar industry, media and experts in the mixology of the region.
